Laurie Zinn
Laurie Zinn is a freelance writer and Topic Editor for the seniors/grandparents section at Suite 101.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ohio University, she was an admissions/marketing director in a long-term care facility. She began working on her master’s degree in health administration at Ohio University while continuing to work full-time, and upon graduation, became a licensed nursing home administrator for a long-term care facility in Ohio.
Wanting to return to her writing and public relations background, Laurie became a public relations and development director for a mental health and drug/alcohol crisis agency. She was responsible for writing newsletters, brochures, press releases and all fund-raising materials. She organized, wrote and launched the agency’s website.
Currently, Laurie is a stay-at-home mother and continues to develop her writing and editing skills at Suite 101 and through several freelance and volunteer projects at her children’s schools, preschools, home owners associations and at her church.
